Whether you’re moving to an Alaska duty station or already settled in, the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska can help you and your family make the most out of your time in the Last Frontier!

Nurturing the Next Generation

Research shows that the first eight years of a child’s life are crucial building blocks for their future (CDC). ASYMCA offers curriculum-based early learning programs for kiddos ages 3-4 and educational summer camps for older kids. Need short-term care? ASYMCA provides drop-in child care at JBER Hospital, as well as the Baker Field House and Buckner Fitness Center. (Locations vary)

From non-perishable goods and holiday staples to laundry detergent and diapers, ASYMCA Marketplaces have everything your family needs to keep bellies full and households running smoothly. ASYMCA Marketplaces offer a wide range of household necessities at no cost to active duty, guard, and reserve service members, as well as their dependents. (Located on JBER, Eielson Air Force Base, Fort Wainwright)

Shop for a Cause

Moving to Alaska can be an undertaking! The ASYMCA Bargain Shop makes it easier with an affordable selection of high-quality clothes, kitchen appliances, decor, and more. Getting ready to PCS? Donations are also accepted. (Located on JBER-Richardson, JBER-Elmendorf, and Fort Wainwright)

Celebrating Military Spouses

Here in Alaska, the Armed Services YMCA offers Military Spouse Summer Camp, a weekend retreat where female military spouses can rest and recharge together. Activities include kayaking, canoeing, archery, guided hikes, yoga and more. Then, in February, one Alaska-based military spouse is honored at the annual Salute to the Military gala. Nominations are accepted annually starting in November and self-nominations are welcome! (Statewide)

Formal Wear to Share

Have a formal event coming up? The Armed Services YMCA of Alaska has you covered! The ASYMCA’s After 5 Boutique lending closet offers a selection of dresses in all lengths, colors, and styles.
