Empowering, Connecting +supporting milsos
1 year ago today🫶🏼 Military life often has 1 year ago today🫶🏼
Military life often has us feeling so far from those we love. That if we were just physically closer, we would FEEL closer. Living in different time zones can make even meeting up for a phone call or FaceTime feel impossible. But I’m not sure I’ve ever felt closer to Kirstin than last year when the time zone difference was on our side. Me, in Alaska at 2 in the morning, + Kirst, in DC at 6 am. Having my best friend, who I haven’t lived near in 6 years, be my virtual doula the first time my body went into spontaneous labor 2 weeks early was one of the sweetest gifts of that day. (A gift for my husband too because it bought him 2 more hrs of sleep😂)

We never know who we will meet along the way in our military journey when we open ourselves up to it, and this is just another reminder of how grateful I am for those who have come into my life 🤍
I used to SWEAT so much about making birthdays for I used to SWEAT so much about making birthdays for my sweet military kids feel perfect - especially when I knew my husband would miss their special day. I'd overthink every single detail just trying to fill the gap + make it special enough 😢

Over time, I've realized they don't remember the color scheme or even the trinket/gifts they receive. They carry with them the simple things - FaceTime Happy Birthdays from Dad on a flight line across the world, videos from military friends living thousands of miles away, or skipping school to have a special day doing what they love most.

It might not be the perfectly curated moments we often see online, but it's real. And that's what they'll remember. Not the details, but the feeling of being seen, celebrated and deeply loved🥹

Comment "SHOP" and I'll send ya a link to the plate we use as a birthday celebration tradition that our kids LOVE!

We hope you love this line as much as we do, and that you feel proud to wear these pieces as a representation of what we stand for as Wives of the Armed Forces - military families who are empowered and supported in this journey.
It took me actual years to realize that my husband It took me actual years to realize that my husband + I didn’t have to be together 100% of the time to “make the most” out of our reintegration time. That actually, it could be even a little overwhelming for him to go from 100% free time to 100% time with me (and let’s be honest, time dictated by me). The wayyyyy this knowledge would have saved me MANY sensitive feelings of wondering why reintegration was a challenge!!🤪

We strive for open communication on expectations between things I need to get caught up on, rest he needs to catch up on, time with the family, and time spent together.🫶🏼
