Brushwork Impressions was born from a lifelong love of gift giving.

I had the fortune of growing up the child of a career Air Force officer.  My dad stayed on Active Duty until my junior year of High School.  I value that I got to experience some pivotal parts of his career when I was old enough to understand its significance.  Once he took on command roles, I had a front-row seat to just how important the mission is and the people that make that mission a success.  As a spouse, my mother showed me first-hand how simple acts of kindness can truly turn around someone’s spirit.  These gifts she gave were not necessarily something extravagant, expensive, or even an item, but a thought, a gesture, or a meal to ensure the people around her were cared for and felt seen.

I brought this love of gift-giving with me into my role as the wife of an Active Duty pilot.  This lifestyle provides an opportunity for me to always be on the hunt for the perfect gifts for a variety of reasons.  I decided, why not combine my love of art with my love of gift giving, and Brushwork Impressions was born.

How can Brushwork Impressions help you with the perfect gift?

Everything is hand painted on paper which is special itself.  I love digital artwork, which is becoming more and more popular, but actual paint on paper will always hold a special place in my heart.  It adds such a special element because there are no easy erases or quick changes.  It can’t be mass-produced without digitizing it.  Every stroke is done with care and precision.  So many of my products are customized.  Even the non-customized products can be customized if you email me your thoughts and ideas.  I am always willing to work with a customer to ensure their vision comes to life.

My goal is to keep custom artwork accessible, and the process painless.

What products does Brushwork Impressions sell?

My most popular products are my custom pieces – houses, pets, and photo replicas.  My first products were state-inspired art which comes in the form of Duty Station Collections and hand-painted greeting cards.  Having lived in 11 states and having to move 13 times, my state heritage holds a deep place in my heart.  In each place I lived, I left a part of myself behind but also took a part of it each state with me.  Anytime I return to a place I once lived, I feel so rejuvenated by remembering the different aspects of a particular culture I had loved during that season of my life.

Original artwork is also popular in my store.  My original art is a combination of strong women that inspire me, the challenges and beauty of motherhood, whimsical elements of childhood and my love of nature.

Special Projects and Giving Back

It is important to me to use my artwork to give back good to the world.  I currently have art pieces for sale where the proceeds go to three very worthy organizations: Continue Mission for their efforts in veteran suicide prevention, Save the Children for their refugee crisis relief in Ukraine and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) for their irreplaceable work for our Gold Star Families.
