It truly does not get better than Old Town Alexandria if you’re moving to the DMV area! Whether you and your family have orders to Andrews, JBAB, the Pentagon, or Fort Belvoir, you are 20-25 minutes away and get to experience all the perks of city living without the hustle and bustle of DC. Old Town is lined by cobbled streets and historic homes with dozens of coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques to explore on Saturday afternoons.

There is always something to do around the city – from the annual Scottish Christmas Parade and Fourth of July Fireworks, to the Alexandria Dog Walk and weekly farmers markets. Honestly, I don’t think it gets better than living here.

Things to know about Old Town Alexandria

Since living in Old Town Alexandria and the DMV area, we have grown to love fine dining, winery trips, and all the amazing events happening locally! There is always something going on, and I truly love that about living here. The DMV is definitely different than living in a small military town; you’ll find that the military community stretches in each and every direction geographically, making it hard to choose a specific location to live in. Commute times and cost of living are two huge factors to consider when stationed here. No matter where you settle down though, you’re sure to run into other military spouses in your neighborhood with how many there in the DMV! Make sure to connect with your Key Spouse Program for even more connections!
