This is easily our most requested style guide year after year and we are FINALLY making it happen for you! We worked with the incredibly talented Carly at Wandering Woman Photography at Laughlin AFB to capture some pictures of Kirst’s family in two outfit options she wore for pictures this year and have also included some additional looks we love. Typically, we only show up for pics in one outfit, but for the WAF world, I will do a change mid-shoot on the flight line! And Laughlin WAFs, what are you waiting for? Reach out to Carly ASAP to book your family session, she’s the sweetest human and an absolute blast to work with!

The best advice we have for styling your family for flight line pics? Keep everyone comfortable! If you try to put your kiddos (or spouse) in something way out of the norm of what they typically wear, they’ll be pulling at it the entire time and pictures will be a struggle. The same goes for you! If you never wear a dress and then roll up to these pictures in a dress, you won’t love the outcome.

Also, keep in mind, this shoot was styled with my daughter, we’ve added in some stylish little boy options too for inspo.

Without further delay…outfits! You don’t need to break the bank to get some cute, cohesive options. You probably have a lot of these basics in your closet already!!

OUTFIT OPTION #1 – FLIGHT SUIT

PHOTOGRAPHY BY WANDERING WOMAN PHOTOGRAPHY

If your spouse wants to wear their flight suit, great! We recommend avoiding making it too matchy-matchy and instead just sticking to neutral colors that compliment that military green. I also like to think through what I want to wear first and then shop for kiddos. Since I knew I would be in jeans for this look, I opted for a comfortable dress for my little to mix up the dynamic a bit!

OUTFIT OPTION #2 – CIVILIAN CLOTHING

PHOTOGRAPHY BY WANDERING WOMAN PHOTOGRAPHY

I don’t blame our Airmen/women for not wanting to be photographed in the same outfit they work in every day, so I like to always make my spouse feel comfortable in a civilian option if that’s the route he wants to take. I also try not to buy anything new, his comfort is key for us getting good pictures, so I stick to his favorite pair of jeans and a shirt that I know he feels confident and cozy in! Plus, this gives me a good excuse to shop to match it!!
