Osan AFB was exactly like I thought it would be and nothing like I thought it would be all at the same time.  I had months of anxiety and panic attacks leading up to our move but my first weekend here I couldn’t understand why I stressed out.  Yes you’re in a foreign country but it doesn’t FEEL like it.  You can’t read any of the signs but hey, they still have food delivery!  The summers are hot and humid and the winters are cold so be sure to pack accordingly.

Right outside of the main gate for base is the Songtan Entertainment District or SED where most shops, bars, restaurants, and cafes are located. Be sure to join the Osan AB Spouses page – there is so much great information and recommendations!

Things to know about Osan Air Force Base

The food here is absolutely amazing.  Korean Street Food is an entire culture in itself and if I were to come back as a food in another life I’d want to be a yakkimandu.  Kamsahamnida (thank you) goes a long way and you do not need to read or speak the language to communicate with locals.  Everyone is so friendly here and they welcome you in with open arms!
